‘Thor: Ragnarok’ writer Christopher Yost will also write for ‘He-Man’ movie reboot

Many who grew up in the 80s will remember the “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe” cartoon series. It is one of the popular cartoons back in the day, and even today it has not lost its popularity. web service security reserved domain names . Sony now has plans to bring He-Man back to the big screen, and the studio has tapped Christopher Yost to make a screenplay for the planned movie. Those who grew up in the 80s will most probably remember He-Man, starting off as a toy line by Mattel and then later on as a cartoon series by Filmation. Then it was eventually turned into a live action movie.

Development for the film took some time, which actually goes back to 2007 when it was first handed to Warner Bros. When Mattel and producer Joel Silver couldn’t agree about the film’s direction, Sony was approached to take over in 2009. Sony and Escape Artists took over the production.

Essentially with Yost writing, he would most likely rewrite the script as it has been reported that Terry Rossio and Jeff Wadlow had initially finished it. It has not been said why Christopher Yost has been brought in to do the writing chores for the project.

Christopher Yost is not new to animated films or film adaptations as he had written for “X-Men: Evolution” and “Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.” He would later on move to live action films with “Thor: The Darkest Hour” and the upcoming “Thor: Ragnarok.” It would be interesting to know how he would shape the coming “He-Man” film, and what direction the story will take.
